Pave A Clear Path Forward With Our Experienced Elder Law Attorney
Growing older comes with many challenges and changes. Seniors often face mounting health issues such as decreased mobility, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Their medical and daily living needs may require thoughtful consideration of options like Medicaid, assisted living, nursing homes or other long-term care. There are many layers to these concerns. They require in-depth legal knowledge, experience and sensitivity to interpersonal and family dynamics.
At Q Elderlaw, PLC, we help clients navigate all the questions, challenges and uncertainties that go along with aging. Our founder, Portage elder law attorney Kelly Quardokus, focuses exclusively on this area of law. She has spent more than 30 years gaining a thorough mastery of its many nuances.
Additionally, for more than a decade Ms. Quardokus has worked for and directed several projects at statewide non-profit organizations that have an impact on advocacy issues affecting seniors. These roles include serving as Ombudsman — Director of Training for the State Office of Long-Term Care, and also supporting the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan State Bar Foundation. This experience gives her a unique perspective on how to address her clients’ legal problems and provide a more holistic way to legally plan for the future.

What Is Elder Law?
Elder law focuses on addressing the legal needs of older adults and their families. It encompasses a wide range of issues, including estate planning, managing incapacity, preparing for long-term care and protecting elders from exploitation.
Addressing these concerns is essential for maintaining your dignity and independence as you age. We handle all of these areas, as well as estate administration and probate after a loved one’s death.
